So nice you are here! I am a conservator for historic interiors and painted artifacts, for over twenty years, and have worked with very special colleagues on projects at amazing institutions and organizations. My research concentrates on longue durée painting techniques and paint making technology, using object based analysis, experimental archeology techniques, and the study of color theory from ancient times to Newton. In addition to conservation and research, I lead immersive community conservation workshops, with topics varying from paint making, ancient painting techniques, color theory, reconstruction of painted finishes, connective architectural drawing, to preservation methods for non-conservators and emerging heritage professionals. As a side project, I am building a historic materials library, for design professionals who enjoy historic interiors, and heritage professionals who enjoy design. This library will bring principles and ideas to life by sharing concrete examples of historic materials and colored surfaces. Finally, if you are interested in pigment trade and painting techniques from the ancient world and beyond, you can find some of my research and publications here, too. Hope you’ll enjoy!
